For Dubai Watch Week in November 2017, Iwc Watches New Collection Replica Schaffhausen has launched an exclusive new watch for collectors in the Middle East, in partnership with Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons. The Portugieser Tourbillon Hand-Wound (Ref. IW546307), with its dark green dial, comes in a limited edition of just 25 watches. This watch, specially created for lovers of fine watchmaking, will be available in IWC’s regional stores from 1 December 2017.
The Portugieser range was created in the 1930s to meet the specifications of Portuguese businessmen (hence the name), and became a pillar of IWC’s collections. The Portugieser Tourbillon Hand-Wound, launched in 2011, showcases the haute horlogerie talents of Kurt Klaus and his team, but remains understated despite its high-end mechanics.
This version, limited to 25 pieces, has a deep emerald dial and is animated by a flying tourbillon at 9 o’clock. The round 43-mm case is fitted with a black alligator leather strap. The manually-wound manufacture 98900 calibre, which can be viewed through the transparent sapphire crystal case back, supplies a power reserve of 54 hours and features IWC’s signature indexless balance.

As Luc Rochereau, IWC’s regional brand manager for the Middle-East, India and Africa, explained, the most demanding connoisseurs and collectors of the Middle East have always supported the IWC brand, which was why it made sense to have a timepiece available exclusively in that region.
The Seddiqi family remains an enthusiastic supporter of IWC, and is delighted to be able to offer its timeless timepieces to the region’s watch lovers. “The Portugieser range has always showcased the best of haute horlogerie and of IWC,” explains Abdul Hamied Seddiqi, vice-president of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons. “It is a privilege to be able to offer this rare hand-wound tourbillon to our select clientele.”
The electronic display of the time jumps instantaneously and is very smart. For the screen of the minutes, an individual can clearly understand that there are two disks — a 10-minute disc and one for the single minutes. The only minute disc advances just once every moment, and a release mechanism stores energy and advances the 10-minute disk so. Up top, the hour disc jumps exactly on every 60th minute. This instantaneous jumping mechanism allows for a clear and precise digital reading of this time. Getting all to jump simultaneously and easily is seemingly quite challenging in watchmaking, and it will be cool to see all of the digits change at the peak of every hour. The Iwc Gold Watch 1950 Replica Tribute to Pallweber Edition “150 Years” is powered by the in-house IWC caliber 94200. It’s a manually-wound motion that beats at 4Hz and offers 60 hours of power reserve. Curiously, IWC did not send us images of this movement, but we’re advised that it’ll be observable through a sapphire display caseback and will feature an inlaid 18k gold medallion that celebrates the 150th anniversary of IWC. One can also expect it to be embellished to IWC’s usual high standards.Of all of the special commemorative watches introduced by IWC this year because of their 150th anniversary, the IWC Tribute to Pallweber Edition “150 Years” is my favorite due to its clean screen of the time and its classic look and texture. It’s also a somewhat faithful homage of the Savonnette pocket watch from 1886, which I’m convinced is something IWC fans will love. IW505002) is limited to 250 pieces, also will have a price of $36,600.
